Privacy Policy

Apex Sky is a 3D flight simulator and plane-spotting game. You can play without creating an account or providing a name or email address. The app uses device identifiers and online services for saved progress, game features, diagnostics, purchases and optional rewarded ads, as described below.

Game progress and community features

Progress is stored on your device and automatically backed up to our database when online. Backups include your collection, balances, settings and game progress, linked to a device identifier so the app can recover a lost save. This identifier is not your name, but it lets us recognise activity from the same device. If you participate in leaderboards or share designs, your chosen callsign, scores or shared content can be visible to other players.

Location

With your device permission, Skywatch uses your location to find nearby aircraft and airports while the app is open. Nearby searches send coordinates to the services needed to retrieve those results. You can revoke location permission in your device settings. Diagnostic reports can also contain rounded locations, as described below. If you opt in to rare-plane alerts, we also store an approximate location (your position rounded to about 5 km) with your device identifier and time zone, so a server can check for rare aircraft near you every few minutes and send a notification; those checks send the rounded coordinates to the same aircraft-data services. It is updated when you open Sky, at most once an hour, and turning the alert off in Settings deletes it.

Diagnostics and usage information

We collect technical and game events to investigate failures and understand how features work, including purchase attempts, feedback and ratings submitted in the app. These records can include a device identifier, device and app details, and game activity. Crash and freeze information may be sent automatically; manual reports are sent when you use “Send to devs”.

Diagnostic uploads can include recent errors, screens, performance readings and flight positions. The upload code removes saved-game backup fields and rounds latitude and longitude to three decimal places, approximately 100 metres at the equator. Rounded positions can still reveal an approximate location. Please avoid putting sensitive personal information in feedback or other text you submit.

Optional rewarded ads

Supported iOS builds offer Google AdMob video ads that you can choose to watch for in-game rewards. The app requests non-personalized ads. This does not mean that the ad service collects no data: Google's Mobile Ads SDK may process IP addresses, device or app identifiers, ad interactions, crash logs and performance information to deliver and measure ads and help prevent fraud. An IP address can indicate an approximate location. You can decline the offered ad by not selecting the watch option.

Product analytics

To understand which parts of the game new players use and where they stop, the app sends gameplay events (for example: app opened, first flight, landing scored, a reward ad watched, a purchase attempt) to PostHog, an analytics service. These events carry the same device identifier as diagnostics, the platform, the app build date and the event details. No session recordings or screen captures are made, and PostHog receives no name, email, precise location or payment details. The data is kept on PostHog's servers in the United States. Purchases

Apple App Store or Google Play processes in-app payments. RevenueCat helps validate purchases and report purchase status using customer identifiers and purchase records. Apex Sky records product and transaction information to deliver purchases and avoid granting the same purchase twice. We do not receive your payment-card details. Online services

Hosting, database, flight-data, map and imagery providers receive the network requests needed to run the app. These requests can include an IP address and the locations or areas being requested. Offline downloads and settings are stored on your device. External links, including Discord, open services with their own privacy policies.

Android beta sign-up

The Android beta uses a Google Group and Google Play. Group owners can see members' email addresses. We use these addresses for administering the test, not for marketing. If you signed up on our website before October 2026, the address you supplied was used to send joining instructions. You can leave the group or contact us to request deletion of information we hold.

Children and privacy questions

The device identifiers, diagnostic collection and optional ad services described above can operate without a player giving us their name. Parents or guardians with questions about a child's use of the app or information associated with it can contact us.

Use “Send to devs” inside the app or the Discord link in Settings for privacy questions or deletion requests. A request made from the app can help us identify the device's records. Removing the app or clearing local storage does not by itself delete server backups, reports or information held by external service providers.
